The mastermind behind fashion label Plein Sud, is that of Moroccan born Fayçal Amor. At age 24 with an Economics degree, Amor discovered a passion for textiles in his homeland of Morroco, he began to play around with materials and dying techniques, when he stumbled across a local textile mill and decided to manufacture his own fabrics and thus began work on his very first collection. In 1980, after moving to France, Amor becomes Pierre d’Alby’s artistic director for five years. Yearning to develop his own line, in 1986, Amor creates: PLEIN SUD, a line that is synonymous with edgy designs and sleek, sexy fits.
Today Plein Sud still harbors many of Amor’s earliest design foundations of “always searching new harmonies, creating new fabrics, draping his own structures.”
